E2 Membership Terms & Conditions
Events Management Queensland (EMQ)
These Terms & Conditions apply to all E2 Memberships purchased from Events Management Queensland (EMQ). By purchasing an E2 Membership, the member agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. E2 Membership
1.1 E2 is a membership program operated by Events Management Queensland (EMQ).
1.2 The E2 Membership fee is $199.00 AUD including GST.
1.3 The membership fee includes postage of the E2 Membership merchandise pack to Australian addresses provided at the time of application.
1.4 E2 Membership is valid for one membership year, commencing 1 October and concluding 30 September of the following year.
1.5 Membership numbers are limited and EMQ reserves the right to determine the maximum number of memberships available for purchase in any membership year.
1.6 EMQ reserves the right to close membership sales at any time once the available membership allocation has been reached.
1.7 E2 Membership is personal to the registered member and is non-transferable.
2. Membership Renewal
2.1 E2 Membership renews annually on 1 October.
2.2 Membership benefits, including applicable event discounts, will become active for events in the following twelve months in accordance with the relevant membership period.
2.3 EMQ will provide members with information regarding membership renewal prior to the commencement of the next membership year.
2.4 EMQ reserves the right to amend the membership fee, benefits or conditions applicable to future membership years.
3. Guaranteed Access to ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
3.1 E2 Members are provided with guaranteed access to enter the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon, subject to the terms of this section.
3.2 E2 Members will receive a dedicated pre-access link before general event entries open.
3.3 The pre-access link must be used within the specified pre-access period communicated by EMQ. Once the pre-access period has closed, the link may no longer be valid.
3.4 The E2 Membership does not include the cost of entry to the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon. Standard event entry pricing will apply.
3.5 The pre-access link is personal to the E2 Member and is non-transferable. It may only be used by the registered E2 Member.
3.6 Members must complete their event registration using the details associated with their E2 Membership. EMQ may require verification of membership details.
3.7 Guaranteed access does not guarantee a particular race wave, start position, race number or other event allocation unless otherwise specified by EMQ.
3.8 If the member does not use the pre-access link within the specified pre-access period, the guaranteed access benefit may be forfeited.
3.9 The ASICS Gold Coast Marathon is subject to its own event Terms & Conditions, which apply in addition to these E2 Membership Terms & Conditions.
4. Guaranteed Refund
4.1 E2 Members are entitled to request a refund of their entry fee for eligible EMQ events if they are no longer able to participate.
4.2 A $20 administration fee will apply where a withdrawal and refund request is made within two months of the relevant event date.
4.3 Where a refund request is made more than two months before the relevant event, no administration fee will apply, subject to any specific event Terms & Conditions.
4.4 The guaranteed refund applies to the member's eligible event entry only and does not include the E2 Membership fee.
4.5 Refunds will be processed to the original payment method where possible.
4.6 Any refund request must be submitted in accordance with the withdrawal/refund process communicated by EMQ.
4.7 The guaranteed refund benefit applies only to the registered E2 Member and is not transferable to another participant.
4.8 Any additional fees or charges associated with an event, including third-party fees where applicable, may not be refundable.
5. E2 Member Event Discount
5.1 E2 Members are entitled to a 10% discount on eligible EMQ events, subject to the conditions outlined below.
5.2 The discount applies across eligible race distances for the relevant event.
5.3 The discount may be used once per event and is specific to the registered E2 Member.
5.4 The discount cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash or applied retrospectively to an existing event entry.
5.5 The discount cannot be combined with another promotional offer or discount unless expressly stated by EMQ.
5.6 Discount availability and eligibility will be communicated through the E2 Member Portal.
5.7 The E2 Member discount does not apply to the E2 Membership fee itself.
6. E2 Member Portal and Exclusive Content
6.1 E2 Members will have access to an E2 Member Portal containing exclusive member content, promotions, offers, information and opportunities.
6.2 Access to the E2 Member Portal is personal to the registered member and must not be shared with another person.
6.3 Exclusive promotions and offers may be subject to additional terms, conditions, availability, expiry dates or eligibility requirements.
6.4 EMQ reserves the right to add, amend or withdraw content, promotions, offers or opportunities available through the E2 Member Portal.
7. E2 Membership Merchandise Pack
7.1 Each E2 Member is entitled to an E2 Membership merchandise pack.
7.2 For Australian members, the merchandise pack will be posted to the delivery address provided during the membership application process.
7.3 International members will be required to collect their merchandise pack from the first EMQ event they attend during the applicable membership year, once the merchandise is available.
7.4 Members are responsible for ensuring their postal and contact details are accurate and up to date.
7.5 EMQ is not responsible for merchandise that is unable to be delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the member.
7.6 E2 Membership merchandise is subject to availability and may change from the items originally advertised. EMQ reserves the right to substitute, modify or change merchandise at its discretion.
7.7 Merchandise cannot be exchanged for cash or a monetary equivalent.
8. Member Branded Race Number
8.1 E2 Members will receive a member-branded race number for eligible EMQ running events.
8.2 The E2 member-branded race number is a supplementary race number and is provided for members to display their E2 Membership if they wish.
8.3 The official race number issued for the relevant event must still be worn by the participant and must remain clearly visible in accordance with the event requirements.
8.4 The official race number is required for access to the course, participant identification and timing/results.
8.5 The E2 member-branded race number does not replace the official event race number.
8.6 EMQ may determine the design, format and placement requirements for the member-branded race number.
9. E2 Bag Drop – ASICS Gold Coast Marathon
9.1 E2 Members will be eligible for access to the designated E2 Bag Drop at the ASICS Gold Coast Marathon, subject to event arrangements.
9.2 Details regarding the location, operating times and conditions of the E2 Bag Drop will be communicated to members prior to the event.
9.3 EMQ reserves the right to modify or withdraw the E2 Bag Drop benefit where operational, safety or event requirements make this necessary.
9.4 Any items deposited at the E2 Bag Drop remain subject to the event's applicable bag storage and security conditions.
10. Exclusive Partner Discounts
10.1 E2 Members will receive access to exclusive discounts and offers from selected EMQ partners.
10.2 Partner offers are subject to the individual terms and conditions of the relevant partner.
10.3 EMQ does not guarantee the continued availability of any particular partner, discount or offer and may add, amend or withdraw partner benefits at any time.
10.4 Partner discounts cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise specified by the relevant partner.
11. Exclusive Member Opportunities
11.1 E2 Members may be offered access to exclusive opportunities, experiences, competitions, activities or event-related experiences.
11.2 Availability may be limited and may be offered on a first-come, first-served or application basis.
11.3 Additional terms and conditions may apply to individual opportunities.
11.4 Membership does not guarantee access to every exclusive opportunity offered during the membership year.
12. Changes to Membership Benefits
12.1 EMQ will endeavour to provide the benefits outlined in these Terms & Conditions throughout the applicable membership year.
12.2 EMQ reserves the right to make reasonable changes to membership benefits where circumstances require, including changes relating to event operations, venues, suppliers, partners, merchandise or other factors outside EMQ's reasonable control.
12.3 Where a particular benefit becomes unavailable, EMQ may, at its discretion, provide a reasonable alternative benefit.
13. Membership Cancellation and Termination
13.1 E2 Membership is non-refundable once purchased, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
13.2 Membership benefits are personal to the registered member and cannot be transferred to another person.
13.3 EMQ reserves the right to suspend or terminate an E2 Membership where a member:
• breaches these Terms & Conditions;
• provides false or misleading information;
• misuses a membership benefit;
• shares or transfers member-only access, links or credentials; or
• engages in conduct that EMQ reasonably considers inappropriate or detrimental to EMQ, its events, partners or other members.
13.4 Where membership is suspended or terminated due to a member's breach of these Terms & Conditions, the member may lose access to all remaining membership benefits.
13.5 Termination of membership does not affect any rights or obligations that arose prior to termination.
14. Personal Information
14.1 EMQ will collect and use member information for the purposes of administering the E2 Membership, providing membership benefits, communicating with members and administering EMQ events.
14.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with EMQ's applicable Privacy Policy.
14.3 Members are responsible for ensuring their personal, contact and postal information remains accurate and up to date.
15. General
15.1 E2 Membership benefits are subject to these Terms & Conditions and, where applicable, the specific Terms & Conditions of individual EMQ events, partners and promotions.
15.2 Where there is an inconsistency between these Terms & Conditions and the Terms & Conditions of a specific EMQ event, the specific event Terms & Conditions will apply to participation in that event.
15.3 E2 Membership does not constitute an entry into any EMQ event. Event entry fees are separate unless expressly stated otherwise.
15.4 E2 Membership benefits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash unless expressly stated.
15.5 EMQ reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any material changes applicable to an existing membership will be communicated to members where required.
15.6 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.
